OTHER NEWS:
Byron Bay Croquet Club is one of the oldest continuously operating clubs in the region. It was formed on June 30th 1928, and by the end of the year was established on its present site, with a small clubhouse and a membership of over 40. In the 1930's it formed a regional association with other clubs in NSW, and after World War 2 also became an active member of the Queensland 'South Coast Croquet Association' (precursor of the Gold Coast Tweed Region). During the 72 years the club has been running, Byron Bay has changed from being a port and industrial centre to an important holiday destination.
Croquet-playing holidaymakers should pack their mallets and contact the club for a game with the friendly locals.
